2008 Russian River Pinot Noir
Harvested October 6th at 1 ton/acre, 24.2 degrees Brix, 6.9 g/l titratable acidity, and 3.7 pH.
clones: 40% 667, 40% 115 and 20% 777 (and a touch of pomard).
11 day cold soak, 5 day fermentation, and 27 day extended maceration.
14 months in French oak.
In the Burgundian style ... earthy, multi layered, ruby color...
Nose: pomegranate, cloves, cranberry sauce with strawberry liquor and light floral tones.
Taste: black cherries and currants, nutmeg, anise, with a lingering coffee / dark chocolate finish. Balanced structure, silky mouthfeel.
14.0% alcohol, 0.2% RS. Bottled February 2010 @ 28 ppm SO2. 46 cases made.
